Kevin J. Johnston Warns Us: “Masks Are Bullshit” Is Full of Shit

This entry is part 3 of 4 in the series Masks Are Bullshit

In covering the two introductions “Masks are Bullshit” has, is it any wonder that there is MORE front matter1? Kevin titles Chapter 1 “The Warning”, but the more I read through it, the more it reads like a half-assed attempt at a trigger warning combined with a thesis statement. I thought right-wingers were supposed to be against trigger warnings?

Be Careful You Don’t Get the Vapours, “Masks are Bullshit” Has Profanity

Like my last book covering corruption in youth sports called LACROSSE IS DEAD, available for sale at [NOT GONNA HELP GRIFTERS PROMOTE THEIR OTHER BULLSHIT], this book has profanity.

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, page 31

I’m shocked! Shocked, I tell you that a book titled “Masks are Bullshit” has profanity! But yes, his book Lacrosse is Dead is about his issues with a Ontario Lacrosse Association. Mostly because they didn’t sanction his Kevin J. Johnston Cup and made it publicly known that this was an unsanctioned event. They also sanctioned him personally for “unkind, unfair, and deceitful commentary” about people in the lacrosse community. Kevin, of course, tried to sue them but the lawsuit was dismissed for being “vexatious” and “frivolous”.

So, it wasn’t so much corruption as it was he had to face consequences for his actions.

It’s not that Kevin can’t write for shit in Masks are Bullshit, it’s that he’s writing for a younger audience

I also need to use contemporary language at Kincaid Grade Scale of 4 or less so as to make sure that kids under 18 understand it. I highly recommend that nobody under 16 be allowed to read this book based on the naughty language, but I do know that everyone will just simply ignore the warning. So, some of the jokes in here are designed with 16 year-olds in mind. I do remember after all what made me laugh when I was 16, and humans don’t change all that much in 3 decades.

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, page 31

I’m not sure how this justifies his abject lack of citations2 to prove his claims or his refusal to check his spelling, but okay. Fine, he’s writing for a more simple audience. I’m assuming that by “Kincaid Grade Scale of 4 or less, he’s talking about writing that is readable by an audience in the 9th grade or lower… which is not 16 year olds. I mean, unless you’ve failed a grade or two and need to repeat. Which I imagine would include most of Kevin’s target audience.

Also, I’ve judged high school debate competitions with CHSAA and I swear, Kevin does not give high schoolers any credit. Like with every other audience he talks about, he’s incredibly patronizing. I’ve seen high schoolers be able to make a point, make cogent, relevant arguments to argue that point, and cite their sources. In short, I’ve seen high schoolers do a better job at proving a point than Kevin did.

However, in the next paragraph, Kevin tells the most obvious, blatant lie he’s told thus far.

I for one have the capacity to speak and write at Kincaid Scale Grade 14 (College Level) and higher if I’m being paid to do so but I also appreciate reading the Grade Scale 4 or under if I am short on time I need to understand the point quickly. I have gotten to the point quickly in this book using simplified language that some of you are not going to like.

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, pages 31-32

Kevin, you are writing a book. Author Savy Leister, who actually writes children’s books, is much more likely to be able to speak and write at Kincaid Scale Grade 14 and I make that determination as she’s constantly reviewing books at that level.

If you’re a decent human being, you’re going to hate “Masks are Bullshit”

Kevin, not satisfied with just attacking his own audience, goes after anyone with any sense of sanity or compassion. In his next paragraph, he writes this:

If you are a hardcore Fundamentalist left wing nut, a feminist, member of the terrorist groups AntiFa and Black Lives Matter, a member of the Liberal Party, Green Party, New Democratic Party or the American Democratic Party you’re all going to hate this book because it displays everything opposite what your FLASE narrative is.

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, page 32

First of all, can someone tell me what a “FLASE” narrative is3? I legit have no idea what a “FLASE narrative” is. I also tried looking up what “FLASE” means, but I couldn’t find anything about it.

Secondly, Anti-Fa4 and Black Lives Matter are not “terrorist groups” and no sane person could misconstrue them as such. I can’t even fathom how someone can honestly think that being against fascism or senseless police brutality against people of colour somehow means one is in a “terrorist group”. And like all right-wingers, he never goes on to even try to prove this claim.

In fact, Kevin himself made false claims about anti-fa to the Ottawa Police, getting several anti-fascists arrested based solely on his false claims.

Thirdly, I’m not a member of the Liberal Party, the Green Party of Canada, or the NDP… mostly because I’m not a citizen of Canada yet and I’m not sure I can join. Though, if I weren’t currently renouncing my U.S. citizenship, I probably would still be registered to vote in the US. And when I was registered, I was registered as a Green. Not sure why people in these political parties would be against this book. Because…

Finally, I actually kinda love this crazy book in a weird way. Mostly because it demonstrates the factually bereft nonsense anti-maskers rely upon. It shows their unwillingness to demonstrate the veracity of their claims.

Kevin deals with his opposition in a very mature way.

By the way if you are a member of any of the above you are a moron and have no capacity to do anything of consequence to help the human race advance. Please take a page out of the book of the EXTINCTION REVOLUTION terror group and euthanize yourselves as quickly as possible so the rest of humanity can live in peace!

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, page 32

And that’s how Kevin J. Johnston deals with opposition. He can’t accept that they might have legitimate points that need to be addressed. Instead, he pretends that we’re all “moron[s] and have no capacity to do anything of consequence to help the human race advance”. Which is manifestly untrue and what he likes to whine about all the time.

By fighting for human rights and against injustice, we are doing something “of consequence to help the human race advance”. By working to build a better world, we advance the human race. And by working for a fairer world, we advance the human race.

As for “the EXTINCTION REVOLUTION”… isn’t that what anti-maskers are? After all, they’re the ones that team killed enough of their own people that they lost the 2020 presidential election in the US and the last house of commons election here in Canada.

In all seriousness, though, the Extinction Revolution is a grassroots movement bringing awareness about climate change. Namely, the fact that we have a short window of time to make radical change to prevent human extinction. So, once again, this is just an example of Kevin not knowing things.

Kevin J. Johnston does not care about others

Fuck you if you’re easily offended. I couldn’t care less about your whining and crying to do with my use of language and the debunking of your left-wing beliefs.

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, page 33

Bold for a man who has yet to actually “debunk” any of my left-wing beliefs. In fact, I am willing to go out on a limb and say he won’t debunk a single one of them.

God bless you if you are not offended by anything because I think that you are not only going to get a kick out of what I say in this book you are also going to get a kick out of imagining how angry this book is going to make everybody that is left of centre and everybody who believes wearing masks actually does something for them.

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, pages 33-34

It is amazing for someone who has written a book titled “Masks are Bullshit” to miss the point of wearing masks entirely. The point of wearing a mask is to prevent you from spreading COVID to other people. The point of wearing a mask is to make it harder for the particles to get to other people. And if more people wore masks, infection numbers would be lower.

We were saying this all throughout the pandemic. However, Kevin did not want to listen to the science. He did not want to consider the possibility that he might be wrong. When we all wear masks, we are doing something for each other. I think that, more than anything else, is the fundamental disconnect between the left-wing and the right-wing. Namely, responsibility to one’s community.

At the end of the video, you see how the gas that comes out with no mask goes straight into someone else’s face but when you’re wearing a mask, it’s contained?

In short, it’s a matter of physics and biology.

Kevin doesn’t realize that the threat to the economy is inside the house.

In this book I plan to insult politicians who have destroyed the Canadian economy but also I plan to educate you in what this supposed disease is and point out to you the wording of the laws that have been written to interfere with your lives so that you understand that you have been bamboozled, hornswoggled, Hoodwinked, duped, swindled, deceived, lied to and mislead by a group of hyper liberal fraudsters who have helped the United Nations pull the wool over your eyes by creating the biggest hoax in the history of mankind.

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, page 33
The Trump Taj Mahal, being demolished.

He literally doesn’t, though. He glorifies politicians like Trump that have destroyed the American economy during the pandemic. Meanwhile, he insults politicians that have done the actual work to try to keep the Canadian economy afloat5. Politicians like Trudeau.

In short, Kevin fails to see that it is he and right-wingers like him that have been “bamboozled, hornswoggled, Hoodwinked, duped, swindled, deceived, lied to and mislead”. However, the fraudsters are inside the house. Because, instead of doing the right thing and responding to this pandemic responsibly like the liberals did, the Conservatives wanted a more American response. Which would have resulted in American-sized infection numbers.

It wasn’t “liberal fraudsters” that “creat[ed] the biggest hoax in the history of mankind”, it was COVID denialists like Kevin. And the cost of this hoax was the lives of many of its adherents6.

In Conclusion, Kevin J. Johnston reiterates a point he has yet to prove.

The intellectual powerhouse that is Kevin J. Johnston reiterates the thesis of his book, yet has yet to make any attempt to prove his claim.

COVID-19 is bullshit, masks are bullshit and every single one of you who claim that you have had a family member die from COVID-19 are full of shit whether you know it or not and whether you are being deceptive, deliberately or not. My arguments will be offensive, funny and obnoxious but they will all be correct and since you have taken the time to purchase this book and read it to this point, I would suggest you continue reading as it’s a very short read which will stimulate your mind more so than any Marvel Comics Movie, YouTube video of a grown man puking or video game that takes a hundred hours to play.

Kevin J. Johnston, Masks are Bullshit, page 33

Ah yes, all those people who have had a family member who died of “COVID-19 are full of shit”. It’s amazing that the “masks are bullshit” crowd, instead of learning from their failures, choose to blame the victims of their misinformation.

This is a picture of the last page of Chapter 1 the book "Masks are Bullshit", with Kevin J. Johnston's face taking up at least two thirds of the page.
Seriously, people paid money for this shit?

Kevin is, to put it simply, factually incorrect. About everything. Especially since I didn’t purchase this book, I got it for free as I said in the first introduction. Especially since none of the arguments thus far have been proven to be, in any way, shape, or form, “correct”. And while he claims it’s a short read, Adobe Acrobat has it being 252 pages. I’m pretty sure I’ve written more words about this book than he has and I’m just a blogger covering it.

But let’s say I had purchased this book. Why would that be any reason to keep reading this bullshit? He’s given us no good reason to believe any of his claims made in it.

But, like Kevin, I encourage you to keep reading. Mostly because people like Kevin are eventually going to gloss over how wrong they were in talking about COVID. They need to be reminded of the body count their lies have had. Especially since the word count of these posts is starting to get shorter. Though, it certainly helps that Chapter 1 was four pages long and his face took up more than two thirds of a page.

  1. Front matter relates to the content at the start of the book. Things like prefaces, prologues, introductions, tables of contents, etc. ↩︎
  2. This is what we call a “footnote”. This is what you put in your books to refer people to sources that help you prove what you’re talking about. Of course, this is a web page and I have the ability to link. ↩︎
  3. I know he’s probably meaning “false”, but this is why Kevin should bother to spell check his fucking book before self-publishing it. ↩︎
  4. All “anti-fa” literally means is “anti-fascist”. If you oppose fascism, you are, by definition, “anti-fa”. ↩︎
  5. This was accomplished through measures such as the CERB and CRB which helped people stay home and reduced transmission of the disease. ↩︎
  6. Websites such as “Sorry Antivaxxer” document anti-vaxxers who caught COVID and either died or got severely ill. Many anti-maskers also became anti-vaxxers once the vaccines were released. ↩︎
